Sonny Wern made waves with his stutter-techno anthem ‘Dance For Me (1,2,3)’, a track that has completely taken the internet by storm. Since its release just over a year ago, the song has amassed over 130 million streams across platforms, solidifying its status as a techno hit. On TikTok, the track’s signature sound has gone viral, racking up an incredible 215 million views and sparking endless trends. Fans and even the world’s biggest DJs are losing their minds over this masterpiece. Adding to its accolades, Sonny Wern received an Impala Diamond Award for the track, cementing its place as a milestone achievement in electronic music and proving that it’s here to stay.
Sonny Wern’s journey in music kicked off when he was just a kid—8 years old to be exact. He started as a drummer, and a few years later he was spinning tracks as a DJ and diving into music production.
Sonny Wern started out producing tracks for the Dutch hip-hop scene and quickly made a name for himself with gold-certified contributions to Ashafar’s “Etappes” and Mula B’s “Prix D’Ami”.
In 2021, Sonny switched gears and dove headfirst into the world of dance and EDM. His single “Red Lipstick”, a collaboration with HUTS and Gang Speed, broke through in a big way, earning the prestigious Double Impala Silver Award. The track even found its way into the Netflix film “Skandal! Bringing Down Wirecard”, proving that Sonny’s sound knows no bounds.
In 2024, Sonny collaborated with iconic artists, leading to 285 million streams on Spotify alone. His songs with Latin Music legends Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam are undeniable highlights. And if that’s not enough, he also released tracks with industry heavyweights Vini Vici, Bassjackers, and official remixes for Timmy Trumpet, R3HAB, Inna & Cyril. Neither did he slow down to take the social media world by storm, reaching 200k fans on TikTok and breaking the 100k follower mark on Instagram. Besides, he’s got some heavyweight supporters in his corner that played his tracks: Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Armin van Buuren, Steve Aoki, KSHMR, W&W, R3HAB, Gabry Ponte, Deorro, Timmy Trumpet, Mike Williams & Bassjackers.
His sets arrived to some of the world’s most iconic stages this year. From the sun-soaked vibes of Ushuaïa Ibiza (Tomorrowland Presents) to the massive crowds of Parookaville, he left his mark at over 80 shows worldwide. He also performed at Dreamfields, Paaspop, and Bootshaus in Cologne, which is known for its world-class reputation.
